Manifesto

Botho-Ubuntu Principles

“History is the landmark by which we are directed into the true course of life. The history of a movement, the history of a nation, the history of a race is the guidepost of that movement’s destiny, that nation’s destiny, that race’s destiny. What you do today that is worthwhile inspires others to act at some future time.”

n  Marcus Messiah Garvey

Philosophy

Botho-Ubuntu – African Socialism – is an ancient African socio-economic philosophy upon which prehistoric African societies had founded their socio-economic-cultural-political systems upon, and shall henceforth be the vieszpoint that forms the basic principles of South African Liberators Movement (SALM) and shall hereafter be the custom upon which the basic strategies and tactics that spear-heads SALM action-program going forward shall be based on. This shall serve as both the blueprint and guideline for SALM actions and plans moving forward.

Universal Oath

We staunch adherents and members of the African Liberation Movement vow to actively support life giving and life sustaining processes. In the same breath we also swear to actively oppose any processes that systematically restrict life or deny the qualities of humanity to any of the descendent of Africa. We pledge to support and defend the various members of our global family from the cradle to the grave.

a.        Creation of Botho-Ubuntu economic collectives with the sole aim of group and/or bulk buying – in order to reduce costs and reap the benefits of huge savings on reduces prices.

2.        Educate our people about financial and/or money management.

a.        Creations of money making and/or profit generating stokvels – get our people to understand the value of money, and how money is used to generate money. Unveil the secret of the financial institutions – banks, insurance and assurance companies, cash loans, and our kasi mashonisas.

3.        Educate our people on the importance of public health.

a.        We cannot have a free but sick society.

4.        Educate our people on issues of collective community safety and security.

a.        Motho ke motho ka botho! It takes a village to raise a child.

5.        And also educate our people on other socio-economic-cultural-political issues.

Akukho nkomo edla iyodwa!

We sincerely believe in collective action, because of our innate paranoia of being discovered and captured. Motsoho a hlatsoana. One hand washes another.

Now, that is really what Botho-Ubuntu is all about.

Object

The main object of this manifesto is to give birth to a chartered movement that will bond its members together in a spirit of operational unity.

Vision

The vision of African Liberation Movement is to restore to the Negro race (sons and daughters of Africa) a sense of purpose in history as heir and progenitor of creativity, invention, productivity and advance progress.

Commitment

This manifesto is a sign of commitment that all our members pledge to defend all gains, which thus far, African people have made in the past, continue to make presently, and shall, indeed, without fail go on making in the future.

Dedication

African Liberation Movement is foremost dedicated to strengthening the development of the Negro Race, particularly, the African youth. We believe in the sacredness of all life. We also oppose all processes that asphyxiate life or deny the qualities of life to humanity.

Defence of Race

We are very serious in defending members of our Negro family from conception to death. We believe that, as African people, we have the inherent right to life. It is both our natural and human right to enjoy all the benefits of creation, and that those rights must be actively supported and defended by all competent members of our human race.

Focus

The primary focus of African Liberation Movement, as a movement is to create an environment that is conducive to the complete development of the human faculties (i.e., the mind, the body and the soul), to attain and realize this fundamental task we are prepared to create and develop institutions by which the empowerment of African people, particularly young Africans, can be realized and sustained, so that they can also be valuable and positive contributing members of our global family.

SelfDestruction

We reject the notion that our young African people are wired to self-destruct. Contrary to the general misconception, most of the young African people are de-facto leaders in artistic and scientific creativity. They are leaders in creation of the cutting edge of the arts and science. The current negative traits in their social behaviour are the by-product of our general socio-economic-cultural-political conditioning, which has been super-imposed upon us by the oppressive and exploitative hostile external groups, particularly by our European oppressors.

Precious Resource

We, members of African Liberation Movement see first and foremost our young people as our most precious resource through which the Devine Creator and our beloved ancestors would wish to project a spirit of positive growth and constructive development.

Mission

African Liberation Movement’s sacred mission is to restore Negro dignity, freedom and respect by bringing ‘Truth to God’, ‘Truth to Liberation’, Truth to Justice’, ‘Truth to Nature’, ‘Truth to Culture’, ‘Truth to Education’; ‘Truth to Language’; and ‘Truth to History’.

We pledge that we shall remain true to our ancient African motto: ‘Speak the Truth, and the Truth shall set you Free.’

The movement’s maxim is guided by the following five principles:

1.        Truth – always speak the, as the truth shall set you free

2.        Gratitude – always give thanks for what you get, as gratitude is grounded on truth

3.        Love – always radiate and spread love, for gratitude is a reflection of love

4.        God – all your actions should be premised upon God’s good intentions, as God is the past, the present and the future

5.        Future – always remember that there is no future without God.

SALM’s action program is driven by Botho-Ubuntu principles – community education focus:

1.        Educate our people on the importance of self-reliance and how to feed themselves.

a.        Creations of community gardens. People are not cattle, sheep and/or goats. They don’t eat grass. Instead of planting lawns in the front and back yards of our matchbox-four roomed houses, we help communities to establish a culture of cultivating vegetable gardens.

2.        Educate our people on the wonderful idea of bulk buying.
